We will be taking the server down tomorrow night at 9:00 PM server time for an update. At that time, you will all need to patch up to 3.3.5a. This is just a core update, with some minor DB fixes. Also, I am considering switching us from Mangos to Trinity. Trinity is another core, and they have their own database, so it would be a big change. We'll be asking people to participate in a beta program, starting sometime next week, to evaluate Trinity, and try to make a decision on whether it's the right move for us or not. I will say that they have a lot of features in the core that are attractive, but we need to check it out as a whole package. I will be posting more info about Trinity in the forums soon. |

We are currently accepting applications for Game Masters. The requirements to apply are: - Must have an active character on the realm of at least level 40.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have been active on Fate Gaming for at least 1 month.
- Must have no confirmed reports of intentional bug abuse. Intentional means more than one occasion reported and proof provided.
- Must not have been staff of any kind previously (for those who have been staff before, if we wish to rehire you, you will be notified).
- Must be able to write and communicate in English effectively, as that is the language all the GMs use with players. If you know another language, that's great too, as some players here have trouble with English and may be more understood in their own language. But English is a priority, as all GM commands are in English, and all instructions given by senior staff are in English as well.
- If you have applied to be a GM before, please do not reapply at this time. We still have your application on file.
- DO NOT LIE ON YOUR APPLICATION! I cannot stress this enough. Both myself and Fuzzie do background checks, if you say you've been a GM on another server, we can and will check your references. Even if the server is no longer in business, your former co-workers did not give up WoW entirely and can be found on other servers. Private servers are like small towns, people the next town over know everyone's business, especially bad business.
If you feel that you qualify and would be an asset to our family, then please read this and then use this template to apply. We look are looking for serious, mature applicants only. If you fill one out as a joke, with nonsense answers and smart aleck remarks, then it will be thrown in the trash and you'll have wasted our time. We want our family of staff to grow upwards, and we are looking for people with the same goal. We want Fate Gaming to be the best private blizzlike server out there, and we want our staff to work to make that happen. Do not apply to be a GM because you think you can give yourself items or gear, or so you can help your friends out, unless helping out = tickets, and friends = the whole server. These activities will get you banned from being a GM, and in more extreme cases, banned from the server entirely. It's not worth it, so don't do it. We may be a volunteer staff, but we work like we're paid because we are proud of this server, and want everyone else to be proud of it as well.
Also, once you apply, do not under any circumstances tell anyone that you've put an application in to be a GM (this is also mentioned in the "Please Read" post linked above). There are not a few people who like to pay attention to the application area, as your initial application is visible to the public, so they can guess who the next GM in training is. If you tell even one person, they may tell someone else and then little by little the whole server knows. We keep our player toons secret so that when we choose to play them, we can play them in peace. If you are uncomfortable applying publicly in the application forum, I have no problems with you sending your application to me by PM on the forum.
